RECI: Certification of Electrical Work
| All work carried
out by a contractor that is a member of RECI must adhere to
the National Rules for Electrical Installation
which are published by the Electro-Technical Council of Ireland.
The rules require certain tests to be carried out before the
electrical supply is connected to the installation and other
tests to be carried out subsequent to the installation. |

The contractor must sign a completion certificate
to confirm that the instillation tests have been completed
and are satisfactory, before the ESB will connect to the national
grid. The form comes in two sections: green for
submittance to the ESB, who on reciept connect power to the
isolation switch in the meter cabinet. The contractor then
carries out post-connection tests, on the
satisfactory completion of which they fill out the yellow
section, which they then give to the consumer.
